Texas A&M University, Class of 1990, College Station, Texas. Bachelor of Science, Civil Engineering, September 1986 to August 1991. Advanced Classes in: Structural Engineering, Thermodynamics, Materials Testing, Cost Estimating, Autocad, Project Scheduling, and Construction Equipment.
EXPERIENCE
Coors Distributing Co., College Station, Texas. Worked for this company for two years in the summertime. Took inventory and loaded delivery trucks.
Dreyfus Construction Co., Houston, Texas.
Worked every summer until college. Upon graduation from Texas A&M in August '91, was hired full time as Chief Estimator. Completed numersous commercial construction projects throughout Houston and surrounding areas. Helped aquire, design, develop, construct, own, and manage several commercial retail properties in the houston area. Presently owner and President of Dreyfus Construction Co., Inc. and Partner and Property Manager in numerous retail properties.
COMPUTER SKILLS Expert operator of the following software: Autocad, Quattro Pro, Excel, Microsoft Word, Word Perfect, Microsoft Project, Primavera, VSM (Vehicle Simulation Model), and Cyclone (a computerized CPM program).
HONORS AND ACTIVITIES
High School: Member of Younglife (1982-1986). Two year letterman in football and track. Team captain (1984-1985). Unanimously chosen for the Landrum Award (1985), District 17-5A's most valuable lineman. Received First Team All District (1984-1985) and All-Greater Houston honors (1985).
College: Received a full athletic scholarship to Texas A&M University (1986). A member of Texas A&M University's Football Team (1986-1990). A three year starter. Helped the team go on to two Cotton Bowls (1987 & 1988), The John Hancock Sun Bowl (1989), and Seaworld Holiday Bowl (1990). Made First Team All-Southwest Conference Offensive Guard in both 1989 and 1990 seasons. Also received G.T.E.'s Academic Achievement Award for having a G.P.A. above a 3.0 (1991). Recipient of the 1990 William G. Chirgotis Award for the "Most Outstanding Hellenic Collegiate Athlete in the United States and Canada".
Since College:
Happily Married to Laura Wilson Pappas and together we have raised 4 wonderful boys to fine young men over the past 30+ years. Now proud grandparents as well.
Member of good standing in the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE, 9/91), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE, 4/92), Nominated for Board of Directors for the YMCA, Chairperson for the Homeowners Association of Kelliwood Gardens 1996-2002, and Member on various committies in Cinco Residential Property Association, Inc.from 2002 thru 2023.
Activities: Ranching, Hunting, Fishing, Camping, Woodworking, Snow Skiing, Golf, and Scuba Diving.
